Somebody once wrote me, asking, “There are a lot of teachers and students of A Course in Miracles on the market, but there should be something that you’ve hooked into, or caught onto? Something that triggered a transformation or a major healing. So, the thing that was it?”
“Trust,” I said.
Think of your daily life since it appears to be these days with regards to the story. Just how do we answer the question; “Who do I trust? Where do I do believe my safety lies? How will I be sustained? Who’s my source?” So whenever we discuss the final stage of the awakening being pure trust, it’s simply about disengaging and withdrawing our faith and trust in many of these made-up concepts, beliefs, and ideas in the world. It’s similar to building a big house of cards, stacking using one card following the other. A good wind occurs and poof, it’s just blown over. It can’t even stand only a little gust of wind. acim lesson 1 It’s so frail. It’s so temporary. It’s so transitory; It absolutely was this sense of placing trust in the Spirit and withdrawing trust in the rest; dozens of things that were identified and learned as worldly accomplishments. Why should we trust in those? Have they ever brought us lasting peace and happiness? Are they really trustworthy? It really comes down seriously to the essence of who is my brother? Can it be Spirit or matter? Can it be Spirit or form? Furthermore how most of us have tried trusting people? Has anybody tried that certain?So you’re asking the question, “If someone dies or appears to be dying of starvation, what does that say about their mind?” Where all this is heading is to the awareness that everything is mental. What this awakening will show you is that everything is mental and that everything is just a hallucination. That is an environment of ideas and what we call manifest reality, isn’t reality at all. There is no distinction between thought and form. Jesus has to construct his whole workbook in A Course In Miracles on making the text between thought and form. His lessons start with, “Nothing I see means anything,” (W-1) and, “I’ve given everything I see all the meaning it has for me.” (W-2) Then, He works his way around number four, “These thoughts do not mean anything&rdquo ;.Now, He’s speaking about thoughts. First He’s speaking about perception, then about our thoughts, then He comes back with lessons 5,6,7,8,9 … perception, perception, perception, perception, perception … and then number 10, “My thoughts do not mean anything.” You will see he’s wanting to melt everything together and show the final veil or stage of awakening, that is trust.
The Holy Spirit uses time and energy to teach us there’s no such thing as time, to take us back to that timeless moment that is the gateway to eternity. He uses symbols to teach us that they’re all illusions and that they’re all equally meaningless. That’s exactly the method of operation of Holy Spirit. The Spirit has to work well with your head to loosen the attachments from the investment in all sorts of things. What kind of things do you purchase, these days?
